Perhaps more recognisable as driving over lemons country, Las Alpujarras are the beautifully lush foothills of the Sierra
Nevada. The villages form part of the ancient Moorish Silk Road, the many terraces watered by an archaic irrigation system
that stretches for miles through the winding valleys.
In 2003 after having lived in the culturally rich Granada for a year I had an exhibition here at L'Atelier in the gallery
adjacent to the amazing restaurant and library (all part of a 350 year old Berber house!)
